Does anyone buy their groceries through Amazon? Haven't tried it yet, but I'm tempted.

I am really surprised that no one picked up on this discussion. Ever. Because since the OP posted, they have done tremendous things.
No, you cannot use coupons. But they have online rebates tied into their site, and you can get some good deals in bulk, with free shipping on many things. For those of us who are not near a Sams club, this is really helpful for non perishable items we would buy in bulk. I got a fabulous deal on Swiss Miss hot chocolate - wound up costing less than half of what it would in the store - and my son loves this. Now that we still have some left and he has gone to the Coast Guard academy, I can stick the envelopes in mailings and care packages for him. Or, I can have things directly mailed to him if he has room to store it. Good idea for college.

Amazon Grocery has some good deals, when you can couple it with coupon codes. But be forewarned that some stuff is close to the expiration date. Not like next week or like that, but since a lot is in bulk, you have to weigh out how much you'll use in how short of time.
I liken Amazon Grocery to Costco or Sams Club. Will you use the amount you purchase before it goes bad or will you end up tossing some of it and not save in the long run. Just my two cents. -------- www.moneycents.net common sense for the common consumer |
