I would make the desire for wide mouth jars known to your local Senior Citizens center. Many times, these old gals have basements packed full of jars and canners that are just waiting for a new home. I get tons of jars this way.

I used to save mayo, coffee creamer, and peanut butter jars. But now everything is plastic. What's not plastic has mouths that don't match standard canning lids. Bummer!

Also check auction listings in newspapers.

I'm in an area where canning jars are in very high demand and have never paid more then $2.50/doz. for used jars. $3/doz seems to be average for quarts.

On a side note....Enter your best canned jellies, jams, pickles, and veggies in your local county fair. Ball & Kerr sponsors Food Preservation Awards to participating fairs for the top placing entries. The prize pack in each division includes a Blue Book, jar lifter, bubble releaser, jar funnel, jelly bag, labels, lid lifter, and LOTS of coupons (about $50 worth) for pectin, jar lids, and jars. Plus you can win in more than one division. I won all 5 divisons last year. You can get rules from your local fairboard (agricultural society).

I have a bunch if anyone wants some, both new from Walmart and used from garage sales......Bought them for a craft project that I abandoned. I'm looking for a way to get rid of them.

PM or email me if you want them and live near me....I live in Central NJ.

Saif has set up a business incubator for start-up companies in Lahore, hoping to help other tech-savvy Pakistanis turn their visions into businesses. But the hurdles to success in Pakistan remain dauntingly high, especially in attracting investors from outside the country.
"They don't care if you are the next best thing since sliced bread," said Saif. "They just don't want to do anything in a country where the CEO could be blown away tomorrow in a bomb blast or there is no electricity for six hours a day."

Selling the PC division to a rival such as Taiwan's Acer Inc, which acquired computer maker Gateway in 2007, or to China's Lenovo Group Ltd, which bought IBM's PC division in 2004, is not a desirable alternative, Bradley said.

"Regardless of what happens, we're the largest PC company in the world. We need everybody energized, and while this isn't business as usual, we need people to go out and sell products every day," Bradley said.
Suppliers to HP PCs will remain largely intact, although the company may renegotiate and redefine the relationships.
"Unwinding the integration that's taken place within HP will be enormous amounts of work and effort, justified by the return we think we'll be able to provide to our shareholders."
