Hatfield Ham Steaks
Hey all. If anyone has a Weis near you, the new Spring coupon book has $.50 off of one coupons for the Hatfield Ham Steaks. They say DND on them, but are coded starting with 5, so I know in my area the register will double it to $1.00 off. They are listed in my ad as BOGO $2.89, so after using 2 of the coupons it should be $.89 for 2 ham steaks. There's probably other things in there, but this is the one that really jumped out at me.

Well, I just got back from Giant and it didn't go as I had expected. They must have changed the coupon policy here recently. We used to get doubles on everything, even the ones that said DND would double, but not today. The receipt even lists what each coupon was for. I think it also only doubled the first of 2 like coupons. I know I had 2 coupons for the Mrs Pauls frozen fish and only 1 doubled. They did take 6 of the Hatfield coupons since I got 6 steaks, but those didn't double either. Still ended up being a decent price for Hatfield ham steaks though. If this is how the coupon policy is going to be though, it might get to be more trouble than it's worth to keep shopping at Giant at all.

Hmmm...just checked my receipt and my store is listing all items for the coupons also. However, below that it did list the doubles and all of mine that should have doubled did. Even the 4 that were marked DND but started with a 5 doubled. (They were the only 50 cent ones I had for the scott tissue...picked them up at CVS in a blinkie)
Also, check out your ground beef. Some of them have peelies for the $1 off Hamburger Helper. I believe they are good on any helper and Weis has the HH on sale 10 for $10...(which make them Free Free Free!!!!)
And at my store there were a TON of clearance products...lots of hair color, some nexxus hair care, bic pens, purell and dog shampoo are the ones that are sticking out in my mind...

Someone explained to me that they can hit a key on the register before they scan a coupon that will keep it from doubling, but they have to catch it. My first mistake was going to the closest store early in the morning when it's not too busy. They're the "Coupon Nazis" there, all their cashiers will look over every coupon. If I had gone to the one further away it probably would have been better. Or I'll start going after lunch when it's busier. I'll have to look for those Hamburger Helper peelies though, thanks for the heads up!
