Default Summer Savings Marathon

Runs 7/9 - 7/29. Buy 25 items get $20 oyno. 15 items = $10 oyno. 9 items = $5 oyno. Some items are in the ad (don't have mine yet though since the mail person always gets screwy with the mail and any holiday) and some are on their website. I'm seeing some $ makers all ready for those of us with stores that double

Ok went today and spent about $23 and got back $20. I'm sure I can do better, but some of the stuff I need/want like Hansens and salsa. Off to check what coupons are coming out this week to pair up.

I went today and gave it a try too. Had my list written out as I put each item in the cart, (knowing there maybe an issue from previous experiences). So, I had my 25 items listed ---each had a tag. The only thing that printed out was a $10 cat. So, after another 25 minutes of waiting and dealing with customer service I handed over my receipt and handwritten list for the manager to verify and get back to me. Off the top of my head I got- Salsa Herdez BOGO, Oscar mayer turkey, Colgate Sensitive, 4 boxes Pop-tarts, Chex Mix, BBQ sauce, Salad Dressing, Bread orowheat, 3 zip lock bags, 2 Gr. Giant veggies,
That's all I can remember at this point.
The catalina company said they will call me tomorrow to figure out what the problem is. Too bad for me since I was counting on heading back tomorrow for round two.
Looking forward to hearing about your purchases.

So did you you include the free Herdez in your 25 or did that make 26 items? I'd be interested to know if the free ones count as an item. Let us know (please) what Catalina says is the problem. Also ask them to call the store and have a g/c or catalina ready for you (this way you don't have to wait for snail mail).
Here's what I got the today (I got 27 items just to be sure) and got my $20 -
Raid spray 2.50 - 1.50
Marzetti dressing 3 -1
Mt. Olive pickles 2.50 - .75 (need for upcoming bbq)
Ziploc Steam bags 2.50 - 1.50/2
McCormick Season All 1.59 - .25
Sunshine Crackers 2.50 - 1
Hansens soda 2 - 1.00/2 (upcoming bbq)
BC frosting 1.50 (upcoming bday)
Oral B toothbrush 2.50 - 1
OM hot dogs 2 - 1.00/2 (bbq)
Bertolli pasta sauce 2.50 - 1.50/2
Ragu sauce 1.79 - 1.00/2
Chinet casuals plates 250 - 1
Chinet classic white bowls 2.50 - 1
Chinet crystal cups 2.50 - 1
Excedrin 2.99 - 1
Crest 2.50 - .75
Hormel Compleats 2.50 - .75
Barilla 1.49 - .50/2
Chex mix 1.99 - .50
Safeway salsa 2.50 (bbq)

Yes, I counted both Herdez's as part of the 25. Today, when I head back I am going to grab 26 items just to be sure. The Colgate Sensitive is a pretty good deal, so I definitely am going to keep purchasing this. The Oscar Mayer hot dogs weren't marked at my store so I steered away from those (even though I have lots of coupons). Instead I saw the OM turkey meat as part of the promotion so I grabbed that. I spent 50, and got a $10 cat, but I did pick up beer for hubby $10, so when I get the other $10 today I would have spent about $20 for my entire SSM items. Not too shabby!

Ok, maybe the free one didn't count then? Hopefully Catalina can confirm.
I'm trying to hold out going again until I have this weekends coupons to see what might make a better deal. At this point I don't want to shop unless I can break even (or at least within $1) or make $ like with the Rally deal.
This week I was getting my shopping fix with Staples .01 deals, but their new ad didn't have any this week so I'm hoping WM or Target will have a super deal.

Well I can confirm a free item in a bogo free sale does work. I got Fritos the last 2 times with this deal and the free one counted. Also the Ragu pouches are working for the deal along with the jar sauces (same for Bertolli).

I had major issues still with my previous purchase last week. It took until Saturday to finally get it resolved. After speaking with Catalina (no resolution), and the store Manager on Friday, I wasn't able to get my $10 until Saturday. It really took persistance on my part. He told me the zip lock bags (i bought 3) were not part of the deal. When I went back on Saturday morning I noticed they had taken the tags down as well as on the Dawn detergent. He gave me this excuse that he did not know what tags were up on Thursday when I shopped there. I told me the clerk walked the aisles with me and verified each item on my list had a tag on Thursday (even though they had pulled some down by Saturday). I could tell he did not want to give me the extra $10, but I wasn't going to back down. So, I finally got it--- but boy did they make me work hard for it!

Yeah these promos are great when they work, and can be a royal pain when they don't. Especially at the stores that want you to jump through hoops to get it.

Ok this week looks pretty week for this deal, but pick up the Olympic coupon booklet in the store for some additional savings on some items like Cottonell and Kleenex that are part of the deal.
I went today, rolled my $20 to earn a $10 and get some needs (fruit, soy milk, etc) for $1 something oop. So I worked out a deal where I can take my $10 cat and earn another $10 with a little overage even - I'm going to try it tomorrow and will post if it works out well.
