I saw a show on Dateline about people finding Unclaimed Property (money). So for kicks I checked out the website the talked about Unclaimed.org I clicked on my state and punched in my madien name.

Guess what? I have $1,000 from American General Insurance company! It listed my childhood address too, so I guess it was something my Grandparents (I was adopted by my Grandparents) had for me and forgot about! It says its "proceeds from a matured account". I have to send a copy of something with my name and that address. Lucky I kept my old High School report cards, they have that info on them.

I also think my grandfather has some unclaimed money. Both my grandparents have passed but his name comes up in his hometown. Of course I have no idea what his address was, he lived in Mass. years ago. I will tell my Uncle and let him try to figure it out.
