Wink Would you take this class?

Hi,

I am a yoga and meditation teacher designing a 6-8 week course for a community hospital/center, which will help partners and families deal with the stress of having a loved one in the military. Part of what I want to teach is a simple yet powerful meditation technique that is deeply relaxing and helpful for working with difficult emotions.

Even though I have one good friend on active-duty, I know it’s pretty different when romantic partners, children, siblings etc are deployed. So, I’m wondering if any of you might share your ‘expertise’ about what it’s really like living in your situation and what you might like to get out of a class like this. I’m really looking for honest feedback about this idea so I welcome it all. Thanks for taking the time to consider it.

1) Would a class like this even interest you? Why or why not?

2) What is the single hardest thing about being a military wife/spouse/partner/parent? (feel free to write about more than one)

3) What would you most like to learn if you took this class? (i.e. effects of emotional stress, relaxation/meditation skills, other? etc.).

4) Do you know anything about these things already?

5) What would you definitely NOT like to experience/hear about?

Thanks again, I hope I can offer something to the people who support the men and women who serve, so I really appreciate your help!
