A bill has been proposed in California that, if made into law, would require gun owners in the state to carry liability insurance. The purpose is to cover the cost of damage that is caused by the guns that someone owns. This adds California to the states who have created gun liability insurance bills. CalPERS Will Offer Coverage for Same-Sex Couples

A ruling has been made on what has been called a landmark case in California. A federal judge has ruled that CalPERS must offer its long-term care insurance coverage to same-sex spouses and partners. Previous to this, CalPERS couldn’t do this because of the Defense of Marriage Act. CalPERS stands for California Public Employee’s Retirement System. It is an organization that manages pension and health benefits for more than 1.6 million people. It covers retired state workers who were teachers, their spouses, and their families. Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk finally got his little girl… and he couldn’t be happier. The popular X Games participant and his wife Lhotse welcomed their first child on Monday, according to his rep.
